Koenigsegg One:1 To Appear At Suzuka Circuit, Japan

Koenigsegg will be a proud participant at this year’s ‘Sound of Engines’ event, to be held on May 21-24, at the home of Japanese motorsport – the famed and revered Suzuka Circuit.

Suzuka celebrated its first Sound of Engines festival in 2012 to mark the track’s 50th anniversary. It has since become a regular event on the Japanese motorsport calendar in celebration of the significant role Suzuka has played in motorsport, both in Japan and on the world stage.

This unique track has long been a favourite of racing drivers around the world. There have been 30 Japanese Grands Prix on the FIA Formula 1 calendar since 1976 and 26 of those 30 races were held at Suzuka. Such is the track’s prominence in Japanese motorsport.

The 2015 Sound of Engines event will combine historic racers, racing cars and motorcycles with the best that today’s automotive industry has to offer.

And Koenigsegg will be there.

We will take the world’s first Megacar, the Koenigsegg One:1, to the Suzuka Circuit as part of the event. With only 6 production examples ever made, some would say that the mere chance to look at the One:1 up close would be a dream come true by itself.

But do you think we’d take the One:1 all the way to Suzuka and not go for a drive?

Our factory driver, Robert Serwanski, will be behind the wheel of our factory One:1 car during the ‘Attack Lap’ sessions. With a perfect 1:1 power-to-weight ratio never before seen on a series-production sports car, the Koenigsegg One:1 is sure to get the crowd excited with some super-fast lap times on its Japanese debut.

You may not be able to make it to Suzuka in person, but Koenigsegg will be reporting live from the event to keep you updated on everything that happens.

We will have daily reports from May 22 to 24, right here on the Koenigsegg website. We will also be posting regular updates via our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts at the links below. If you’re not following us already, make sure you link up with our social channels this week so you don’t miss a minute of the action.

See you at Suzuka!
