The Regera represents a monumental technological l The Regera represents a monumental technological leap in the hyper and megacar industry for many reasons – chiefly for the exclusion of a gearbox. It is powered by our in-house designed and assembled dry-sumped, 5.0 L, twin-turbo V8 together with three electric motors alongside the world’s first 800 V battery system in a production car, in a combination called the Koenigsegg Direct Drive that produces a whopping 1500hp to the rear wheels.

Even though it kept with the Koenigsegg design ethos as an evolution of the CCR, almost no components were carried over: All body and chassis tooling was designed in 3D CAD and cut by CNC machines, instead of being hand modeled and built previously. The chassis was enlarged, the roofline was raised, and the bumpers and lighting were changed. The electrical system was also fully digital.

Except that these eggs, the Regera more specifically, can go from 0 – 400 km/h in spirited record pace in just one gear.

Christian von Koenigsegg has once said that we are Christian von Koenigsegg has once said that we are an innovative tech company that happens to make megacars as proof of our concepts. The Regera alone reveals several of our in-house engineered and built components and just its in-house ceramic piston brake system, for instance, is one remarkable testament to Koenigsegg's engineering.
 
Few cars are capable of reaching 400 km/h so it takes a very special braking solution to bring the Regera to a stop, comfortably, efficiently and safely. No detail is spared: complimentary materials are utilized in its pad and discs, precisely calculated distance between piston and the center of the disc for uniform wearing down of the pads, and even using carbon fiber strands in our carbon-ceramic discs are considered.

The engine mounts used in the Jesko Absolut are ta The engine mounts used in the Jesko Absolut are taken from the existing Regera. They are active engine mounts designed to deliver a more relaxed ride at lower speed.

When driving at posted speeds, the mounts stay soft to isolate engine noise and vibrations. During spirited driving, the mounts firm up to solidify the car and give greater response. The effect is visceral, transforming the car from relaxed to active in the blink of an eye.

In place of a massive rear wing (on the Jesko) are In place of a massive rear wing (on the Jesko) are two rear hood fins on the Jesko Absolut, designed to enhance high-speed stability. Furthermore, the front splitter and side winglets are removed, and the front wheel louvers are replaced with smoother ones. Every surface is analyzed and optimized for air to glide as effortless as possible over, under and through the body.

It was back in 2006 that we had already made the f It was back in 2006 that we had already made the first scale models, sketches and even the full-sized seating buck of a four-seater Koenigsegg. However, given the magnitude of the undertaking, the company wasn't ready to realize it - until 2020. This has meant that our technology (lightweight, compact and power-dense solutions you see and read about today) could evolve while its concept, details and design were maturing in that time. This has allowed the Gemera to be truly amazing and one-of-a-kind.
